Privacy policy
Last updated on 21 Oct 2026
Unshot was built so your photos never leave your phone. This policy explains, in plain words, what the app does with your data.
Short version: nothing about you or your photos leaves your phone.
Your photos
Unshot reads your gallery to show your photos one by one. Photos and their details (date, size, resolution and type) are read on your phone and stay there. They are never uploaded, shared or sent to any server.
If you give access to selected photos only, Unshot sees only those.
What stays on your phone
To remember your decisions, the app keeps a small database on your phone: which photos you kept, which are in the app’s trash, your daily goal, your streak and your settings. It stores photo identifiers, never copies of the photos.
Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
What we collect
Nothing. Unshot has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. We don’t know who uses the app or what’s in anyone’s gallery.
Internet use
The app only goes online to download updates to the app itself, delivered by Expo (EAS Update). These requests carry only what is needed to pick the right update, such as the app version and the platform, and never anything about your photos.
Deleting photos
Swiping never deletes anything. Photos are only deleted from the app’s trash, after your phone asks for confirmation. If you cancel, nothing changes.
On iPhone, deleted photos go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app and can be recovered there for 30 days.
Children
Unshot doesn’t collect data from anyone, children included.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
